Writivism is one of the initiatives nurturing new writing talent in Africa. Talking about the work in Writivism, BM Bwesigye, the coordinator of the program, said, “The process [of working with the longlisted writers] has been revealing. And encouraging. We have realised that almost each school has a readers and writers club eager to connect to writers.” The program has brought the participating writers to different high schools.

“We have also observed that several young people want to write but hardly hear of opportunities to grow their interest,” said Bwesigye.
